The 'everlasting' manicure... really

I heard a rumour that The Chelsea Day Spa was offering everlasting manicures, sounds too good to be true, though ever curious, I, Lady Chartwell, head to Kings Road, Chelsea, to see what all of the fuss is about...

A very discreet and zen-like spa greets me, and I am guided through to the nail bar. The Jessica - GELeration- gel application process is similar to that of a normal manicure (file, base coat, colour, top coat), though with intermittent moments of having my nails under the UV lamp. I went for a playful pink, which would compliment my array of bikinis for my last July trip to Monaco. My nails were put through their paces for 3 weeks; in and out of the sea, on and off planes, though I was truly impressed with how vibrant and fresh the manicure was looking heading into the third week of wear. After 3 weeks I decided it was time for a change in colour (vampish read this time), though i'm sure the manicure would have withstood at least another week. Furthermore, there is no risk of smudging your nails after application, as the colour sets completely dry - fabulous!

The helpful manicurist advises me that the gel is formulated to be gentle to the natural nail, and does not cause damage to the nail bed. A rather superb investment at £50 if you ask me...
